The parents she adopted are American white who has military experience and her mother is Filipino. She claims that she and the brother were neglected by their adoptive parents from when she was young until the time that she joined the military. The family lived with her Uncle living in San Francisco for several months prior to moving back home Texas on her 13th birthday in the wake of the necessity of her father to undergo bypass surgery.
